Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple in Kannur district of Kerala

Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple is one of the famous temple in Kannur district of Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Muthappan Theyyam a form of Lord Siva. It is located on the banks of the river Valapattanam. Here dogs are considered sacred and it symbolize the bodyguards of the God. Toddy is the main offering to the deity.

How to Reach here?

It is 120 km from Mangalore and around 20 Km from Kannur Railway Station, it can also reached by KSRTC and Private buses. Kozhikode airport is the nearest airport. But, around 130 Km from temple.

Main Attraction

Parassinikadavu Muthappan is famous for Muthappan Theyyam and prasadam here is a dish made of moong, coconut and ground nut. The temple looks awesome from the bank of the river. At 1 Km from temple boating facilities are available, this gives you an awesome view of temple. At an around 5 to 10 Km, there is an Parassinikadavu snake park,  a popular tourist destination for kids and school children.
