Heli Taxi service that aims to bring down your commuting time to and from city to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) is finally happening. Heli Taxi service, a chopper service that offers shuttle service from International Airport to Electronic City Bengaluru is expected to start by the end of this month. Heli Taxi service which is the first of its kind in the country to connect various locations in the city of Bengaluru is expected to start by the end of this month. Thumby Aviation Private Ltd, already developed an app for the booking of tickets. The app will be formally released next week for customers to book the tickets.

Initially, the helicopter shuttle service will have utilize helipads in Electronics City and the international airport. While the helipad at KIA was ready, the one at Electronics City has only now been readied for operations. Once the services get started, helicopters will take off from many more helipads, and not just the one in Electronics City. A one-way trip from E-City to KIA in a luxury taxi costs around Rs 2,000 and the notorious traffic near Silk Board and on Hosur Road makes it a nearly 2-hour commute. This is will be cut down to around 15 minutes. The  ride to airport or back will cost under Rs 3,000.
