HAL Road or Airport Road is renamed as Old Airport Road Bangalore after the new Bangalore International Airport (Kempegowda International Airport) was opened in Devanahalli in 2008.

Shiva Temple, a 65 feet high depiction of Lord Shiva seated in Lotus position, built in the year 1995 is a major tourist attraction in Old Airport Road.

Some of the Landmark in Old Airport Road are Leela Palace, Command Hospital Air Force, Total Mall in Murugeshpalya, Diamond District Business Center, Manipal Hospital, CMH Hospital near Indiranagar, Domlur Flyover, Old Madras Road etc.

It offers public transport like BMTC Bus, Auto & Cab service to key areas like Marathahalli, Whitefield, Brigade Road, MG Road, Majestic, KR Market. The road is also very close to Domlur Flyover which connects Koramangala, Inner ring road or 100 Feet Road. There are a number of Restaurants and Pubs, discotheques/night clubs in and around Old Airport Road. Indiranagar Metro is the nearest Metro Station on the Purple Line of the Namma Metro in Bangalore  (connecting MG Road to Baiyappanahalli metro station). The road is considered one of the "Black Spot" in Bangalore for its traffic problem.
